Early equalizers were huge machines inside recording studios, but nowadays it can fit into smartphones, as there are dozens of equalizer apps online. Equalizer settings are also fixed for different genres and songs. For example, for a room that doesn’t respond well to bass frequencies, the equalizer can be used to boost the loudness of the bass frequencies to “equalize” the sound. Equalizers are used to customize how audio will sound like in specific places with specific configurations. It adjusts the loudness of specific frequencies of sound, “cutting” and “boosting” them to get the best possible acoustic experience. An equalizer is a device or a program that allows the balance between sound wave frequencies to be adjusted.
